LKLP Elk Tours is a new sightseeing tour conducted by L.K.L.P. Community Action Council, Inc. in collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. Elk were once native to Kentucky until the mid-1880's when the population started to disappeard due to over-hunting. Now with the help of the Department of Fish and Wildlife there are now over 1500 elk roaming on 2.6 million acres of land in the state. LKLP Elk Tours will give you the opportunity to see Kentucky elk as well as tours of historical scenery and coal mines. Spring tours begin February 7th and Fall tours begin September 4th.
